“I was terrified and super anxious before coming to Japan…”

Hearing this from my friend Eva made me realize
how hard it can be for expat spouses
to find their place in a new country.

I wanted to help them take small,
confident steps toward feeling at home,
one day at a time.

I truly respect people who try to change for themselves,
and changing for the better is exciting.

That's why I created this program
— to walk beside you as you learn, grow,
and find your own place here in Sapporo. 🌿

About Me

Reika Nagaki

Hello! I’m Reika.
I teach at a Japanese language school and have been teaching English privately for over 17 years.

I hold a Master’s degree in English Education, and I truly enjoy seeing my students rediscover themselves through language learning.

Having studied abroad in Australia, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to adjust to life in a new country. During those years, many people helped me feel at home even when everything felt unfamiliar—and now, I want to do the same for others.

These days, I’m learning Indonesian and French, and I also practice the way of tea. Exploring Japanese culture every day helps me bring warmth and authenticity into my lessons, where language learning becomes a way to connect with everyday life in Japan.

I created this program to gently support expat spouses in finding confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging—one small step at a time. 🌸
